The honor goes to Mrs. Gerry Henry' 68, who has served two terms as a Vice president and has been the group's Treasurer since 1999. She has served as the tee shirt project chairperson for two years and has assisted her daughter, Kristi Lunning, in presenting the Little Miss Selah Pageant three times. Henry has been the number one assistant to her husband, Jerry Henry, in building and operating the Selah float for all but two years since 1989. "That is''' she says, "a lot of petal paper and a lot of parades. Each year we attend nearly all the parades in Yakima County and also travel to Moses Lake, Olympia, lssaquah and Butte, MT. The Butte trip is a fund raiser for the float as it is rented to a Butte business for two parades over their annual Fourth of July celebration. It's a long trip, 1,000 miles there and back, but the entire city seems to participate and their fireworks seem to go on all night."
She also says she wants to thank the City of Selah for all their support in making the float project possible. Much of the work she does is under the auspices of the Kiwanis Club of Selah where she is a Board member and has three years' perfect attendance.
